The Mount Aconcagua South Face Trekking does not present technical difficulties. By this trekking we will reach the wonderful South Face which has an altitude of 4000 mts and you will be able to take unforgettable pictures.

ACONCAGUA SOUTH FACE TREKKING

This is one of Aconcagua’s short treks that allow you to live the real mountain experience in a short amount of days. This trek will take you through the Normal Route up to Confluencia (3320 m). Then you deviate up to Plaza Francia way, where you will be able to enjoy the splendor of the mountains and the nature surrounding you.Then of crossing all type of terrains as rivers, glaciers, valleys; you will see yourself arriving to Plaza Francia (4000 m), were you will find the inmensive and impressive South Face of the Aconcagua. SOUTH FACE TREKKING ITINERARY

DAY 1 - MENDOZA - PENITENTES

We are met on arrival at Mendoza airport. We transfer to the trekking permit office in Mendoza, (permits not included) from here we travel around 3hrs to our comfortable hotel in Penitentes. The remainder of the day is free to relax or explore, tonight we meet of leader and other expedition members as we enjoy dinner , where we can sample traditional Argentine food, D. (Note: Meals included in the land cost are designated as Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 2 - PENITENTES - CONFLUENCIA

Transfer up to the Aconcagua South Face Trekking entrance, 2820m, where our permits are checked. Trekking Aconcaguaequipment is loaded on the mules for the journey to Confluencia camp. We say goodbye to motorized transport and set off on our trek, it’s a 2.5 – 3.5 hr trek up to our first camp at Confluencia 3320m where the Horcones and the Lower Horcones Rivers meet. We spend our first night camping, Aconcagua trekking. B L D

DAY 3 - CONFLUENCIA - PLAZA FRANCIA

Leaving Confluencia we trek up to Plaza Francia 4200m. Our trek will take around 7 to 8 hrs as we follow the Horcones Glacier up, as we climb the valley it widens out and the last remnants of vegetation disappears. During this trek we have spectacular views of Aconcagua’s South face towering above us where we can take pictures. Return to Confluencia camp 3320m. B L D.

DAY 4 - CONFLUENCIA

We spend the day resting and trekking in the area. Our trek takes us back to the bridge over the Lower Horcones River and then up the valley to visit the Horcones Glacier again if we want to. We can spend this day taking pictures of Aconcagua’s South face, B L D.

DAY 5 - CONFLUENCIA - PENITENTES

We repack our equipment for the mules to carry. Aconcagua TrekFollowing the route we descend to Puente del Inca. Our descent should take around 3hrs. The mules go ahead with our equipment as we continue the last leg of our climb back to the park entrance where we are then transferred back to our comfortable hotel in Los Penitentes and we celebrate our climb with lunch in the hotel while we wait for transport to take us to the hotel in Mendoza. DAY 6 - ARRIVAL TO MENDOZA

We have breakfast in the hotel and afterwards we make a city tour in Mendoza. Our tour finishes with a transfer to the airport, B L.

Jedem der vorhat den Aconcagua auf eigene Faust zu besteigen, jedoch auf Gepäcktransport durch Mulis bis zum Basecamp und 1-2 Tage hervorragende Verpflegung nicht verzichten möchte, sei der Service von Andesport Expeditions wärmstens empfohlen. Die Planung und Organisation durch Tomas und David war von Anfang bis Ende perfekt. Man merkt sofort, dass Vater und Sohn das tun was sie lieben! Von der Beschaffung des Permit und Transport zum Startpunkt, bis zur Abholung nach erfolgreicher Rückkehr. Auch nach dem Trip standen sie uns noch mit Tipps und Hilfe zur Seite. Der organisierte Transport unseres Gepäcks durch die muleteers hat bestens geklappt und jedes Teil war vor unserer Ankunft im jeweiligen Lager. Auch die Unterkunft und Verpflegung im Basecamp war nicht nur besser als erwartet sondern auch herzlich und familiär. In einem Satz: Man bekommt mehr von allem!

Aconcagua January 2023 Traverse We were a team of three climbers from Colorado that completed the Polish Glacier Traverse route. During our planning I reached out to several Aconcagua operators and found Tomas and Andesport to be the most responsive. We hired Andesport for logistics support during the expedition, including providing mules. Tomas met us at the airport upon our arrival and assisted with equipment and food purchases prior to our departure. His team pruchased our permits in advance so that we could take advantage of the discounts. Their mule team and support personal at both Plaza Argentina and Plaza de Mules were outstanding. I highly recommend them to any team that is looking for top notch logistics support on the mountain.

Great Family Owned Business My climbing partner and I hired Andesport as logistics support for Aconcagua and we were very pleased with their services. In town Tomas did and amazing job of taking us to exchange money, find the supplies that we hadn’t brought and still needed, and he even gave some excellent restaurant recommendations and connected us with great in city tourism after our climb. Prior to our trip, the entire company provided prompt feedback for any and all questions we had and helped us get our permits. (As someone who has obtained permits on their own, I can say, this service was so great and saved so much time.) When our bags were delayed and my partner needed to return early, they assisted with the necessary accommodations without complaint. Andesport provided transportation to the mountain, coordinated mules, pickup after our climb, meals at base camp, and all the things that allowed us to focus on the climb and made our expedition easier. Logistics for solo climbing on Aconcagua Andes Expeditions supported me logistically in my solo attempt to reach Aconcagua.
